Advanced Speed Reading Courses

We offer this programme over a one day course with a post course self study pack which includes two books and two CDs.

1. Introduction
   Introductions and course objectives.
2. Establishing starting points
   Exercise to establish how fast clients are reading and how much is understood.
3. History of reading
   How we learnt to read. Development of reading post school.
4. Processing skills feedback
   Exercise to establish how we absorb and process information, feedback and explanation of results.
5. Develop reading skills
   Formal input where a number of techniques for improving reading are demonstrated and practised by clients. Includes reading at 1000+ words per minute.
6. Confirming development
   Reading exercise where clients actively use the techniques. The exercise is timed and reading comprehension measured.
7. Memory systems exercise
   An exercise to demonstrate the different memory systems we use when we read.
8. Paradigm shift
   Explaining the difference between traditional and accelerated reading and the changes in habits required.
9. Speed reading a book
   Using the book ‘Accelerated Learning’ clients are shown how to interrogate the book and pull out relevant information.
10. Managing reports
    Exploring the physical and intrnal 'political' approach to reading reports.
11. Changing reading comprehension habits
    The links between reading and pressure and how to change your reading habits for maximum effect.
12. Managing your reading
    Exercise – ‘brief the CEO’.
13. Cognitive mind mapping
    A practical demonstration on how to do succeed in cognitive mind mapping.
14. Evaluation
    Recap of the day and action plan for the post course self study pack.
